Clear website data
Website data belongs to the Space that stored it, and it stays on this device. Clearing it in one Space never touches another Space, your saved passwords, extensions, downloaded files, or site permissions. The Spaces of a Sub-Space group share their website data, so clearing it in one clears it for the whole group.
Clear one site
Open Site Controls beside the address and choose:
- Clear Cookies removes the site's cookies and everything else it stored in the Space: local storage, IndexedDB, Cache Storage and service workers, including what sites embedded in it stored there. It signs you out of the site.
- Clear Cache removes only the responses Crest kept to load the site faster.
Crest clears the whole site, such as example.com and its subdomains, in both engines, reloads the page, and shows the result at the top of the window. The same actions are in the command palette as Clear Cookies for This Site and Clear Cache for This Site, and on iPhone and iPad in the page menu. In a private window, they clear only what that window holds in memory.
Manage a Space's website data
On Mac, open Settings, select the Space, then select Privacy. On iPhone and iPad, open Settings → Privacy and choose the Space. Website data lists the sites that keep data in the Space and what each keeps. Choose Remove for one site, or Remove All… for every site in the Space.
Clear browsing data
Below Website data, Clear browsing data removes what the Space browsed within a time range, from Last Hour to All Time. Choose any of History, Cookies and Site Data, and Cached Images and Files, then Clear…. Clearing history in a Space that syncs removes it from your other devices too.
